{"id":98315,"date":"2006-02-24T03:42:00","date_gmt":"2006-02-24T03:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a65e1c94-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-02-24T03:42:00","modified_gmt":"2006-02-24T03:42:00","slug":"a65e1ca5-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a65e1ca5-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"BAYANI REDUX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bayani Association, a Filipino group composed of  Filipino members who participated in the Philippine Overseas Labor Office\u2019s upgrading and training courses, outlines at least six major contributions to the community last year.<\/p>\n<p>Vice chair and president Daniel Nicomedes said one of the projects spearheaded by the group was the contribution and donation to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3457 in its project of funding the operations of indigent Filipino children with cleft lip and palate. The group also came together to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina through the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also responded to the call of the Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration to assist displaced overseas Filipino workers by donating money,\u201d Nicomedes said.<\/p>\n<p>The group also conducted basic newswriting and lay-outing seminars and workshops under NMI journalist Haidee Eugenio and Mike Temperante.
