{"id":98391,"date":"2006-02-27T03:20:00","date_gmt":"2006-02-27T03:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a65f02ea-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-02-27T03:20:00","modified_gmt":"2006-02-27T03:20:00","slug":"a65f0303-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a65f0303-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Man in \u2018ice trafficking\u2019 case faces deportation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The government has filed a deportation case against an alien worker who was convicted in federal court for trafficking methamphetamine or \u201cice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo imposed a $1,000 unsecured bond for the temporary release of Wang Yang, 34, and ordered him to appear in court on March 9 to explain why he should not be deported from the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n<p>Immigration investigator Colin R. Sablan alleged that Yang entered the CNMI under a nonresident worker\u2019s entry permit status, which expired on Sept. 28, 2004.<\/p>\n<p>Sablan said the respondent was convicted in federal court on Dec. 12, 2002, of distribution and possession with intent to distribute \u201cice,\u201d which is a felony and grounds for deportation.<\/p>\n<p>The investigator said that on Feb. 23, 2006 at 1:30pm, Immigration agent Erwin Flores arrested Wang after the U.S. Marshal informed Immigration that Wang has already completed his sentence.<\/p>\n<p>Labor records show that the respondent started work in the CNMI in 1997 as a building maintenance worker for Hua Xin Corp. He became a manager from 1999 to 2002 at Great Ocean Corp. and Dragon River Inc.<\/p>\n<p>In 2003, he was indicted in federal court on two counts of distribution and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
