Sasaki Oliver and Alex Aquiningoc ruled their respective qualifiers over the weekend with the former firing the lowest score in the Micronesian Games qualifier Saturday and the latter setting the score to beat Sunday for the Refaluwasch Golf Association April Ace Tournament.<\/p>\n
In the fourth Micro Games men\u2019s qualifier held during the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands 5th Annual Charity Classic Golf Tournament at Laolao Bay Golf Resort, Oliver shot a two-over 74 to best the 12-man field.<\/p>\n
The pride of Pohnpei was followed by Mr. Unorthodox Jess Wabol\u2019s three-over 75 and Jeff Taylor\u2019s four-over 76.<\/p>\n
Joe \u201cKamikaze\u201d Camacho (78), John L. Babauta (81), Gus Camacho (82), Jack Sablan (84), Eddie Peter (84), Tony Benavente Jr. (85), Ben Jones (86), and Aquiningoc (87) make up the rest of the Micro Games hopefuls that played.<\/p>\n
Teenage sensation Leina Kim, meanwhile, ruled the third Micro Games qualifier for women after swinging a superb three-over 75. She was followed by Emily Santos (80), Noriko Togawa (80), Shiori Onoie (87), Delle Grandinetti (88), Lorraine Babauta (90), Aya Matsumoto (94), and Yuko Togawa (94).<\/p>\n
Aquiningoc may have finished dead last Saturday but he more than made up for it after registering a net score of 67 in Sunday\u2019s April qualifier for RGA.<\/p>\n
He actually finished tied with Tony Satur but edged the NMASA Sports Hall of Fame inductee in a scorecard tiebreak. Aquiningoc fired a net score of 31.5 in the front nine to Satur\u2019s 32.5.<\/p>\n
Ed \u201cDoi\u201d Tenorio was in solo third with his 68 net. Louie Pelisamen (69 net), Gus Camacho (70), Oliver (70), Jess Wabol (72), Kamikaze Camacho (72), James Balajadia (77), Norman Tenorio (82), and Joey Arriola (84) complete the cast.
