Police arrested Saturday afternoon in Kagman III a woman who allegedly beat up her minor daughter using a wood and a metal rod.<\/p>\n
Susan Igisomar Trecho, 31, was arrested for child abuse.<\/p>\n
During a hearing yesterday, Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman ordered that the bail the court had earlier imposed shall remain at $5,000 cash.<\/p>\n
Detective Patrick Earl Maanao stated in his report that the 13-year-old girl suffered a swollen lower lip, bruises on the back inner thighs, outer left thigh, waist, wrists, and palms.<\/p>\n
Maanao said Dr. Ian Donald Macleod of the Commonwealth Health Center observed that victim had multiple contusions to the chest, buttocks, and pelvis.<\/p>\n
The girl\u2019s back was also riddled with scars, indicating that she had probably been subjected to abuse over the past few years.<\/p>\n
Maanao said the Division of Youth Services contacted the Department of Public Safety Tuesday night to report the child abuse incident.<\/p>\n
The detective said DYS learned that the child confessed that her mother beat her up using a wood and a metal rod.<\/p>\n
The reason behind the beating was not indicated in the police report.<\/p>\n
Wiseman granted the recommendation of assistant attorney general Rebecca Warfield to impose the same $10,000 cash bail.<\/p>\n
Wiseman set the preliminary hearing for April 7 at 9am and appointed the Public Defender\u2019s Office to represent Trecho in the case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
