{"id":99553,"date":"2006-04-06T05:41:00","date_gmt":"2006-04-06T05:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a6cbb8f3-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-04-06T05:41:00","modified_gmt":"2006-04-06T05:41:00","slug":"a6cbb907-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a6cbb907-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Papa\u2019s Chicken opens in Susupe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saipan\u2019s newest chicken and pizza house formally opens today in the exact location where the Church\u2019s Chicken was in Susupe.<\/p>\n<p>Called Papa\u2019s Chicken &#038; Pizza, the new fast food place offers a whole range of chicken meals\u2014hot wings, chicken roll, chicken stick, fried chicken\u2014and other favorite items such as pizza, french fries, rice, baked potato, salad, and biscuits. <\/p>\n<p>The store takes pride in its spicy chicken selections\u2014spicy chicken, chicken stick, and barbecue\u2014as well as its lip-smacking pizza.<\/p>\n<p>Non-spicy fried chicken meals that taste almost like \u201cChurch\u2019s chicken\u201d are also available. <\/p>\n<p>Papa\u2019s Chicken &#038; Pizza actually offers items that were sold at Church\u2019s Chicken Saipan such as the \u201cPapa\u2019s pizza\u201d and biscuits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they miss the biscuits, they can still have them here.  People love those biscuits,\u201d said Papa\u2019s Chicken &#038; Pizza manager Hanna Joung in an interview.<\/p>\n<p>She said that store owner, Sky International, guarantees \u201cthe same quality taste\u201d that Church\u2019s Chicken used to offer its customers.<\/p>\n<p>The store management had actually thought of buying the Church\u2019s Chicken franchise but later decided to rather \u201cinvest in the food.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Church\u2019s Chicken closed its store in Susupe and moved to Guam last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRather than invest in the franchise, we invested in the food quality. We will do our best to make our food taste really good,\u201d said Joung. <\/p>\n<p>She said spicy selections are a good start for local consumers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we had sample tests, only the bones were left of the chicken. People like the spicy chicken,\u201d she said, smiling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to check what our customers want,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Reasonable prices<\/p>\n<p>Joung said Papa\u2019s Chicken &#038; Pizza offers its meal selections at reasonable prices.<\/p>\n<p>It has seven combo meals that range from  $4.29 each to a high of $20.99. <\/p>\n<p>Items are also sold individually for as low 59 cents for a biscuit or $1.99 for a piece of chicken, $1.15 for salad, and $1.49 for a slice of pizza.<\/p>\n<p>The store also offers kid\u2019s pizza meals and kid\u2019s chicken meals at $2.59 to $3.99 each.<\/p>\n<p>Joung said the management prices its product reasonably in consideration of the overall economic condition in the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are mindful of our prices.
