\nWhether it\u2019s a delightful and elaborate Easter Brunch that you want, or the great Easter egg hunt and other fun activities for children, you have them all at PIC this Sunday.<\/p>\n
Pre-lunch activities <\/p>\n
From midmorning to evening, PIC has a full list of activities for its guests, young and old.<\/p>\n
At 10am, take part in the \u201cShave your Rabbit Race!!\u201d at the Shark Pool.<\/p>\n
But it\u2019s not real rabbits that you\u2019d actually get your hands on, warns PIC Sports Manager Evan Hunsberger. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s something creative,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
After one hour or at 11am, show off your artistic talent and join an egg decoration activity at the PIC information center. <\/p>\n
Special Easter Brunch buffet<\/p>\n
PIC\u2019s innovative executive chef Robert Stern has come up with an extensive selection of buffet food at The Magellan Restaurant.<\/p>\n
For salad alone, the chef has more than 10 types of salads to put to table, including premium items such as cooked pink fantail prawns and New Zealand green shell mussels, white clams with corn, bell pepper, and coconut relish, smoked salmon with condiments, cous cous salad with parsley and baby shrimp, and pesto pasta salad with poppy seed seared chicken breast.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe usually serve a wide array of salads even on regular days but it\u2019s not as elaborate and special as this Easter Sunday,\u201d said Stern.<\/p>\n
Shabu-shabu<\/p>\n
Shabu-shabu, a popular Japanese variant of hot pot, is now part of The Magellan Restaurant\u2019s buffet.<\/p>\n
Shabu-shabu, roughly translated to \u201cswish-swish\u201d, referring to the swishing action during cooking, is prepared by submerging a thinly sliced meat or vegetables in a pot of boiling water or dashi [broth]. It is served with hot steamed rice.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur guests from all over [the world] like shabu-shabu. It\u2019s an international [cuisine],\u201d said Stern.<\/p>\n
The Magellan feast<\/p>\n
The restaurant has more food stations this time than before, giving diners more choices of great, great food, from soups, sushi and sashimi, to green salad, pasta, and delectable meat, fish, and vegetable dishes.<\/p>\n
At the \u201caction\u201d stations, mouthwatering selections of slow roasted prime rib, rack of lamb and herb-crusted pork loin will be found.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s the traditional sushi and sashimi station, Caesar salad station, and a pasta corner with a selection of spaghetti, penne or fettuccine with tomato sauce and alfredo sauce, enhanced with garlic, mushroom, sweet pepper, onions, and Parmesan cheese.<\/p>\n
In a corner is a breakfast station including eggs \u201cprepared to your choice\u201d with choice stuffing, fresh Belgian waffles with toppings and fresh whipped cream and island roasted suckling pig.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s also a mini wok station consisting of sliced chicken, shrimp, mushrooms, baby corn, onions, and capsicum.<\/p>\n
Scrumptious dishes of seared mahi-mahi with pine nut-corn compote and grilled pork chop with seasoned roasted eggplant with paprika sauce are just among the long list of entrees.<\/p>\n
For dessert, homemade specialty cookies, Easter bunny cookies and other special cakes and pastries are sure to delight diners.<\/p>\n
A cr\u00e9pe station will also be a major feature, with flamb\u00e9ed bananas and hazel nut liqueur.<\/p>\n
Special rates<\/p>\n
The Magellan Restaurant manager Henry Worswick said Easter Brunch will be offered at a special rate of $20 per adult and $12.50 per child between 4 to 11 years old.<\/p>\n
To get the maximum benefits at PIC, he suggests that guests get the $30 per adult and $25 per child\u2014package which includes the Brunch buffet and access to the Waterpark.<\/p>\n
If purchased alone, a Waterpark pass costs $20.<\/p>\n
Three raffle winners<\/p>\n
Worswick said that a raffle drawing would take place at The Magellan on Easter.<\/p>\n
Three winning tickets will be drawn, each of which will receive special prizes from PIC, including certificates for dinner or lunch for two. <\/p>\n
The Galley\u2019s panini selection <\/p>\n
Inspired by Italy\u2019s panini or small bread, The Galley\u2019s Restaurant at PIC features a menu of delicious and flavorful variations of panini from 11am to 9pm.<\/p>\n
This runs from April 11 through April 23.<\/p>\n
A unique appeal of the Panini sandwich is its simplicity\u2014fresh ingredients are layered inside hearty breads and heated at high temperatures in a panini grill.<\/p>\n
Chef Stern said panini sandwiches are like fine dining between two pieces of bread.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese sandwiches are easy to eat, and bursting with flavor. There\u2019s something so comforting about melted cheese, meat, and veggies wrapped in crisp yet tender crusted bread,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n
After-lunch activities<\/p>\n
Easter Sunday adventures continue at 2pm with the \u201cSling Shot Game\u201d at PIC\u2019s Sports Field.<\/p>\n
At 3pm is the great Easter Egg Hunt at the same venue.<\/p>\n
Hunsberger said this particular event, which takes about an hour, is exclusively for children.<\/p>\n
Sand Egg making at the beach follows at 4pm and the Balloon Bunnies game comes at 5pm at the Information Center.<\/p>\n
