{"id":99913,"date":"2006-04-19T03:58:00","date_gmt":"2006-04-19T03:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a6d7b0d8-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-04-19T03:58:00","modified_gmt":"2006-04-19T03:58:00","slug":"a6d7b0e9-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a6d7b0e9-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinian to pursue own drydock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tinian Shipping &#038; Transportation will pursue its proposed construction of a drydock facility on Tinian, although Saipan is likely to have two within the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue with our own project,\u201d said Tom Liu, general manager of Tinian Dynasty Hotel &#038; Casino, which operates Tinian Shipping. <\/p>\n<p>The company wants to invest $1 million to build its own drydock facility on Tinian to ensure the immediate repair of its vessels.<\/p>\n<p>On Saipan, Marianas Shipyard is expected to begin its operations within six months.   <\/p>\n<p>The Commonwealth Ports Authority has also signed an agreement with STA Ocean Shipbuilding Marianas Inc. for a barge manufacturing business on Saipan. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll see what happens.
