GCA ENROLLMENT ONGOING

The Grace Christian Academy’s open enrollment started on April 3, 2006 and will continue until all seats are filled. Application packet may be picked up at the Registrar’s Office from 7:30am to 3:15pm.

Documents required with submission of application are as follows:

– Copy of your child’s birth certificate

– Copy of his/her immunization records

– School Entrance Health Certificate (from CHC)

– Recent passport-size photograph

– Official transcript from previous school

– Completed Student Health Profile (in the application packet)

At GCA, we are committed to excellence in various aspects of your child’s education. Students are encouraged to discover their God-given potentials and are provided with outstanding programs and opportunities for Kindergarten 3 through 12th grade. (PR)

April 26: PTA meeting #9, 6:30pm, cafeteria

April 28: Student-of-the-month/Peacebuilder, K-3rd grade (D. Camacho, J. Simpliciano, F.J. Villagomez) at 9am, 3rd grade (D. Santos, M. Bucher, M. Abid)- 5th grade at 9:45am, school cafeteria.

April 29: Praxis Test, NMC, Saturday Reading Program, 8am to noon

May 1: Flag ceremony, 9am, 4th Quarter Mid-Progress Reports due to Parents

May 1-4: National Teacher Appreciation Week:

5-1: Bring an apple or any fruit for your Teacher Day

5-2: Write a Praise Card or Letter to your Teacher Day

5-3: Bring something Sweet for your Teacher Day

5-4: Bring a Lei, Mwar, Flowers or Plants for your Teacher Day

May 5: No school for all Kagman Elementary School students – Made-up Typhoon Day on Feb. 10.

May 6: Saturday Reading Program, 8am-12 noon

May 10: PTA meeting #10, 6:30pm, school cafeteria

May 13: Saturday Reading Program, 8am-12 noon

May 15-19: Standards Based Assessment Test (SBA), all week for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Parents: Please provide your child with 2 sharpened #2 lead pencils, a good breakfast, and a good night’s sleep daily.

May 20: Saturday Reading Program, 8am-12 noon

May 22: Staff meeting, 2:30pm, cafeteria

May 26: 3rd Annual Science Fair, Open for public viewing during school hours, 8:00am-2:15pm, school cafeteria

May 27: Last day for Saturday Reading Program, 8-12 noon

May 29: No school, Memorial Day Holiday

May 31: KagEs Kindergarten Ceremony, 9:00am, Outdoor Stage Area

June 1: KagEs 5th grade Ceremony, 9:00am

June 2: Last day of School Year 2006-2006. Report cards will be issued to students today.

1. Lucky R now has now has the tickets available for the Promotion Ceremony buffet. They are being sold at our school cantina for $5 each, which includes a dinner plate with two choices, salad and a drink. Tickets will also be sold May 10 at the Science Fair, and May 11-12 for the PTSA/7 grade orientations.

2. 7th Grade Orientations: We will have a brief orientation for our feeder schools on Thursday, May 11, and Friday, May 12, from 6-7pm. A PowerPoint Presentation and school tour will be included. There will be time for questions and answers. Schools are asked to adhere to the following schedule:

n Thursday May 11: GTC, TAN, KES, SAES, DES

n Friday, May12: SVS, GES, WSR

3. The Awards Ceremony has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 13, from 9-11am at the Multi-Purpose Center. If your child is receiving an award, an invitation will be sent home; however, all students, staff, and community members are invited, no matter who is receiving an award.

4. May 8-12 is National Teacher Appreciation Week. Encourage your child to do something nice to show his/her teachers some appreciation. You can Google for ideas, ask Ms. Grayer, adviser for the NJHS, or call Ms. Beth at 237-3427 for some ideas. NJHS will be helping the PTSA with this special event this year. Parents are welcome to show their appreciation as well.

Any 8th grader guilty of behavior which could be a suspendable offense will not participate in the promotion ceremony. No exceptions.
