VFW Fotten Gaga II and Wild Wild West find themselves in a tie for first place in the Banzai Division with only a week to go in Budweiser SBA Open 8-Ball League.

Wild Wild West caught Fotten Gaga II atop the standings following its 4-2 conquest of Jewel Night Shooters Tuesday night at Club Jewel.

The Wild Bill’s gang of Jesse Pangelinan, Nong Detdon, and Suriya Mongkon-At won their respective singles matches before Pangelinan and Noi Blake clinched the victory in the doubles.

Coupled by Fotten Gaga II’s 3-3 tie with Godfather’s at VFW Post 3457, both teams are now knotted with identical 33-21 win-loss cards and the championship appropriately will be decided when the same two teams meet on Tuesday, May 2, at Wild Bill’s.

Diamond Aldan and Sam Babauta took credit for Godfather’s two wins in singles and one in doubles, while Marvin Bauchelong and Gary Chisato were responsible for Fotten Gaga II’s two singles triumphs with Gary and Ron Chisato taking care of the other doubles contest.

Godfather’s still has an outside shot of prying the title away from the frontrunners if it does very well against Vargas Hot Shots next week at Jonny’s Bar & Grill. As it is, the team is just two games back of the co-leaders at 31-23.

Jewel Night Shooters is in the middle of the pack with a 27-27 record, while Vargas Hot Shots (17-31) and VFW Pool Warriors (15-33) maintained their win-loss marks after their match scheduled at Jonny’s Bar & Grill was moved to a later date.

While their appears to be a photo-finish in the B division, the Budweiser SBA Open 8-Ball League’s A division saw Da Place Sure Shots widen its lead over second-place Round Two Hustlers Tuesday night.

Sure Shots opened up a two-game lead against their rivals when it scored a 5-1 victory over cellar dweller USSP Fotten Palau at USS Pelelieu Club.

The lopsided win gave Sure Shots 38 wins as against 16 losses, while the loss dropped Fotten Palau even deeper down the abyss with a 14-40 record.

Hustlers failed to even keep pace with Sure Shots after it won only four of six games against USSP Dreams at Round Two Bar and Grill. The team is now at 34-20, while Dreams is firmly secured in third place with a 22-32 standings.
