Dressed in little white gowns and caps, 33 kindergarten students of Green Meadow School & Daycare were recognized during the school’s third graduation ceremony held Friday afternoon at Pacific Islands Club’s Charley’s Cabaret.
With the theme “Giving Life to Learning – A Never Ending Story,” the students marched center stage to the delight of their parents, teachers and family members who captured the moments on their video and digital cameras.
Emmanuel Cobacha was named valedictorian and Jolo Miko Berueco was named salutatorian of the Kinder 5 class of Ma. Grace Rosete. Cobacha also received the Best in Bible, Best in Reading, Most Dependable and Most Diligent awards. Berueco received the Best in Science, Best in Social Studies, Most Attentive, Most Responsible and Citizenship awards.
Amanda Gail F. Nato topped the Kinder 3 class of Karen Danan while Gabrielle Ray M. De Leon topped the Kinder 3 class of Zeny Valeros.
Students received their certificates and awards from Green Meadow School president Milagros Merjilla, principal Marilyn T. Divino and guest speaker Tim Thornburgh from the Public School System’s Federal Program Office.
Thornburgh in his message congratulated the students and reminded them to develop a love of learning because it is important and that “learning equals earning.”
School president Merjilla also thanked the parents and teachers who were behind the success of these students. She also noted that Green Meadow School is fast growing, having 60 students this school year. The school started with eight students when it opened in 2002. It will offer a second grade class next school year.
Students from K-4 and 1st grade class provided entertainment by dancing to the tune of “Tiny Bubbles” and “Chocolate Choco-Choco.”
The graduating students performed “I Have A Dream” and “Tomorrow” as their graduation song.
