Helicopter detachment returns from deployment

SANTA RITA, Guam—Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 Detachment 5 returns to Guam today, June 7, after completing a 10-month deployment. A welcome home ceremony is scheduled for 11am today at the squadron’s hangar on Andersen Air Force Base.

Members of Detachment 5 were in Kuwait to augment the U.S. Army by flying the first Naval Air Ambulance Detachment. The detachment was deployed from August 2005 through June 2006.

HSC-25’s mission is to deploy helicopter detachments to conduct Sea Combat operations in support of the Fleet and our National Defense; and to provide logistics, search and rescue, force protection, and disaster response support to the Territory of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. (PR)
