GES activities this summer
The GES PEC Team is hosting a golf tournament on June 17, 2006 at Lao Lao Bay Golf Resort. All proceeds will help send the GES teacher and staff delegation to the 23rd Annual Pacific Education Conference in Palau. Tickets can be purchased at GES. Saturday Library is open for students who want to spend time reading. Breakfast and lunch is provided. The library is open from 8am to 12pm.
The GES Summer Fun Camp will begin June 19, 2006 to July 14, 2006, from 8am to 12pm at Garapan Elementary School. Registration forms can be obtained in the office on June 12-14, 2006. Students must be dropped off and picked up promptly. Breakfast and lunch will be served free of charge. The summer camp is free of charge. Materials for crafts and other activities may be requested by teachers.
Programs available:
– Cultural Dancing: Creating dance attire through weaving, and performing cultural dances.
– Lifelong Health: Hygiene, health and fitness activities. Include sports.
– Weaving, Bead and Mwar-making: cultural arts and crafts. Taught in conjunction with Micronesian folktales. Making artifacts and models for Micronesian villages.
– Environmental Awareness: cooking, swimming, dancing, singing, island cleanup.
– Micronesian Folktales: Reading and drama production. Includes field trips.
– Spark P.E. Program
