SSHS sweeps math competition

The Saipan Southern High School Manta Rays took home the top spots in all categories, including Advanced Mathematics, Geometry and Algebra, at the recent CNMI Math Court Competition.

The top five Advanced Math finishers from the SSHS team were Karen Echon in first place; followed by Suel Yi Lee in second; Joel DLG Evanglista, third; Gi Yoon (Tim) Ko, fourth; and Roque Indalecio, fifth.

The team also took the top spots in Geometry: Karen Echon in first; Preston Basa, second; Raissa Ferrer, third; Jenny Ecalnea, fourth; and Miguel (Mike) Demapan in fifth, with Yuanyuan Li taking the first place spot in Algebra, Rae Hyun Go, third; Hae Jun Lee, fourth; and Miguel Demapan in fifth.

The competition saw some of the CNMI’s brightest academic athletes from all public schools come to the Marianas High School campus to compete. [I][B](PR)[/B][/I]
