NMC to hold International Education Week

The Northern Marianas College Student Services will again host several activities in line with this year’s NMC International Education Week.

The Northern Marianas College Student Services will again host several activities in line with this year’s NMC International Education Week.

The NMC International Education Week will be held starting Monday, Nov. 13, until Thursday, Nov. 16.

Acting president Danny Wyatt said that activities would include a variety of international films, world music, costumes contests, and many more.

Tomorrow will be the International Film Day while on Tuesday, Nov. 14, it will be the International Music Day. On Wednesday, Nov. 15, will be International Costume Day. All activities will take place at the Student Center wing.

Students will participate in the costume competition where they will don costumes from around the world. The college will award Best Costume on Wednesday. Judging for this event will start at 9am until 2pm inside the NMC Counseling Center.

A festival of international food will culminate the celebration on Thursday, dubbed the International Cuisine Day, to be held at Room D-1. Wyatt said there would be an array of dishes created and inspired by cultures from all over the world. Talented local chefs from the hotel industry on Saipan would prepare these food.

International Education Week was first established in 2000 under the Clinton administration. From the 13th to the 16th of November, campuses, embassies, and communities are now encouraged to hold activities celebrating international education and diversity.
