The Filipino Community Church 2nd Inter-Color Basketball League will host two showdowns in its Thanksgiving Day showdown tonight.

According to league coordinator Pastor Noel Puno, tonight’s bouts will get underway at 6pm with Caleb and Hosea testing each others’ skills on the hardcourt.

Caleb is looking to bag its second win of the season as it enters with a 1-1 win-loss card, while Hosea will be putting its best effort in hopes of breaking into the win column after losing its only game played thus far against Samuel last Nov. 13.

Caleb won in its debut, beating Gideon, 87-53, with Leo Barrios and Art Salazar leading the way for the team. The team then lost last Nov. 16 to Joshua.

Scheduled to entertain the crowd in the second game are Daniel and Isaiah.

Although still early in the season, Daniel is already sending strong messages to all teams playing in the league after winning its first two games.

Daniel, coming off a 112-83 victory over Gideon last Nov. 13, currently leads the league with its 2-0 mark, and will lean on the play of standouts Elmer Esdrelon, Rick Alegre, Dennis Vinas, James Abuy, Junar Guiab, Pando Muleta, and Jhun Tabora.

Isaiah, meanwhile, will look to hand Daniel its first loss while trying for win No. 2. Isaiah enters the bout with a 1-1 record, breaking into the win column with an 89-86 victory over Elijah last Thursday.

The current standings has Daniel at first place with a 2-0 record, and Jeremiah and Samuel right behind with 1-0 records. Caleb, Elijah, Isaiah, and Joshua sit with 1-1 records, while Nehemiah and Hosiah have 0-1 cards. Gideon sits with an 0-2 card.

Pastor Puno also disclosed that the bouts scheduled for this past Monday will be rescheduled and played at the end of the regular season.

The bout between Jeremiah and Nehemiah was halted due to rain. Officials also postponed the second game between Gideon and Samuel.
