Whispering Palms School continues to dominate the 9-and-under category, and easily cruised to victory in the 2006 All Schools Cross Country Championships last Saturday at the Laolao bay Golf Resort.

The school won both the boys and girls competition in the age division, taking home two championship trophies.

Leading the way in the boys’ division was Kenyon Schultz, who tackled the one-mile challenge with ease as he crossed the finish line in just 10:13.

Right behind him were teammates Michael Grandinetti and Quintin Ramsey, as the two clocked in at 11:19 and 11:51 to take second and third place.

Fourth place went to Aaron Lee as he finished in 12:55, while Colin Ramsey and Raj Ramnani crossed the finish line in 13:47 and 14:10 to complete Whispering Palms’ push.

Meanwhile, Gabrielle Race led the way for the school in the girls’ division as she took the top spot in just 10:14.

Neghar Rastguiy and Nishta Thomas were just as impressive as the two placed second and third in 12:05 and 12:38, while Annali Livingston and Emily Jones closed Whispering Palms’ campaign with a bang in 14:50 and 19:03.

The Championships served as the finale for the 2006 All Schools Cross Country Series. The Series featured three tune-up races—two held on Saipan and the other on Tinian.

The event, featuring schools from Saipan and Tinian, was organized by Northern Marianas Athletics and sponsored by UMDA.

The event also included competitions in the 11-and-under, 14-and-under junior high school, and 18-and-under high school age groups.
