‘Stop publishing trash’

While it is within a person’s constitutional rights to express his or her opinions freely, it is also rightfully within the editor’s moral, ethical and professional duties and responsibilities to safeguard the quality and the types of opinions to be published in his newspaper.

For this paper to publish such personal matters as the Reyes family feud over real estate, inheritance, etc. is just journalistically improper. Most average intelligent readers do not care about personal matters, even if the feuding parties voluntarily “wash their linens” publicly. Publishing destructive family matters for everyone to read in this paper, or any paper, has no moral benefit or redeeming social value to anyone but certainly raises the issue of the editor’s poor taste, near absence of minimum human decency, and the death of quality, sound editorial judgment.

Therefore, please, stop the publication of this type of trash! Stop fighting!

Merry Christmas and happy New Year! Shalom! Peace be with the Reyes family and everyone else.
