The Marianas Visitors Authority has named Andy Tidwell, president of Couture Marketing, as its public information officer for fiscal year 2007, according to an MVA statement issued today.

Tidwell’s primary responsibility will be to release information about the marketing efforts of MVA both locally in the CNMI and globally in their target tourist destinations.

“MVA is very happy to retain the services of Mr. Tidwell,” said MVA managing director Perry Tenorio. “He brings to us 20-plus years of media and marketing experience, specifically in the tourism industry. In light of our economic times, Mr. Tidwell’s services are essential in communicating to the public MVA’s efforts and successes in the implementation of the governor’s 5-year strategic initiatives for tourism.”

“I look forward to the opportunities ahead with MVA. Tourism is the lifeline of the CNMI and I am excited to work to help promote the efforts of MVA,” said Tidwell. “Tourism affects the entire CNMI and is everyone’s business. I applaud MVA’S work and look forward to showcasing the efforts of MVA as they work toward the goal of 1 million visitors by 2010.”

Tidwell will continue to work in his capacity as president of Couture Marketing while working with MVA. (PR)
