CNMI Phone Book is now available
The first edition of the CNMI Phone Book, complete with residential, business, and government contact information, is now available to residents of the Mariana Islands.
The 2007 CNMI Phone Book is the first ever phone directory to contain information on Saipan, Tinian, Rota and Guam. It was published by Yellow Pages Ink, which has been putting out The Guam Phone Book for 18 years.
The first copies of the phone book were presented to Senate President Joseph Mendiola and Vice President Pete P. Reyes yesterday morning. A total of 100,000 copies of the Guam and CNMI phone books will be delivered to government agencies, businesses, and households across the islands before New Year’s Day.
Yellow Pages Ink general manager Julian T. Cooper-Nurse said the full CNMI phone book was printed as a result of the success of the CNMI section of the 2006 Guam Phone Book. Last year’s Guam directory included 22 pages containing information on selected CNMI businesses.
Like the Guam version, the CNMI Phone Book is accompanied by an online directory found in www.cnmiphonebook.com. Visitors to the website can type in a telephone number or address and find the name of the person and or business which has that number. Also found on the website are links to local news, tourist information and current events for the CNMI and Guam.
“We continue to make our product more useful. We also have the online directory, which gives people the opportunity to have access to phone numbers when they need and how they want to retrieve it,” Cooper-Nurse said in an interview.
The CNMI Phone Book included a message from Gov. Benigno R. Fitial and Lt. Gov. Timothy P. Villagomez, which read: “With this book, doing business and contacting friends or family in the Marianas becomes a little more convenient. As the CNMI enters the Year 2007, we look forward to new opportunities for networking within the Commonwealth and beyond.” (Agnes E. Donato)
