SANTA RITA, Guam—The Navy will hold a groundbreaking ceremony tomorrow, March 28, 8am.

The ceremony marks the construction of 55 three-bedroom and four-bedroom units in the Old Apra housing area. The new family housing will serve as replacements to the current homes that were built in the 1950s.

Black Construction Corp. was awarded the $42.1 million project, which is scheduled to be completed in May 2009. The contract was awarded in August 2007.

The homes will boast energy efficient air-conditioning units, covered patios, private fencing and additional storage spaces, among other features. The housing area will include playgrounds, jogging and bike trails, and a picnic area. (USN)
