Free car wash today for anti-cancer drive
Team PTI and Marianas High School will be holding a free car wash today, April 26, 2008 at PTI’s parking lot in Susupe, right next to the Fire Station. The event will be from 7am until 2pm and members of the community are invited to bring their cars for this free service.
Although the students of MHS and the staff of PTI are offering the free car wash to the public, they plan on generating funds through the pledge forms that are being circulated before the date of the event. The pledge forms request for people to donate 10 cents per car that is washed at the event. The funds from the pledges will go toward the team’s donation to this year’s Marianas March Against Cancer.
According to Jesse Toves, the event organizer, “We look forward to this weekend’s event and we hope to raise a large amount of money for MMAC.”
“PTI has other exciting fundraising activities going on and we thank everyone who is willing to help us raise funds for this worthy cause,” he added.
During the car wash, there will also be entertainment, food, and great prizes. “We hope that people who plan on going to the Arts Festival will also drop by our event since it is in the same area,” Toves said.
Aside from the car wash, other fundraising activities include the selling of raffle tickets for a round-trip ticket to the U.S. or Asia, weekly hot lunches, a bowling tournament, in house fundraisers, and so much more.
