The CNMI May Masters Bowling Tournament returns for its 26th year when competition begins this weekend at the Saipan Bowling Center.
The three-day bowling tournament—organized by the Saipan Bowling Association and sponsored in part by JET Holdings, MARPAC-Budweiser, Saipan Grand Hotel, Club V, the Marianas Visitors Authority, PTI, and Saipan Bowling Center CNMI—will run from May 23 to 25.
Games begin on May 23, Friday, with the registration starting at 1:30pm. The three-game singles event follows 30 minutes after the sign up. The three-game doubles event starts at 4:15pm.
The team event is scheduled at 6:30pm with dressing of the lanes timed at 8:45pm. A 9:15 extra shift is set for all events.
On Saturday, the games begin at 9am with the lane dressing slated at 5:30pm. An extra shift at 6:30pm is also prepared from lanes one to six for additional games in the singles, doubles, and team events.
Lanes seven to 12 are reserved for the Women’s Masters events. The deadline for registration in the Women’s Masters is at 5pm on May 24 where at least 12 ladies must sign up for the games to continue.
The Women’s Masters winner is guaranteed to receive $300, while additional prizes will depend on the number of women players. The Men’s Masters champion is guaranteed $800.
The Men’s Masters 12-game final will be on Sunday starting at 9am with lane dressing after the sixth game. There will be no stepladder roll off for the men’s masters and bowlers will be positioned based on the standings after the 11th game. The bowler with the highest pinfalls after 12 games will be declared champion.
The banquet and awards ceremony will be at Saipan Grand Hotel’s Club V.
