BoS sues former senator, ex-wife for $18,373 loan
The Bank of Saipan Inc. has sued former Senate President Joaquin G. Adriano and his ex-wife Marian for their alleged failure to pay $18,373 loan.
BoS, through lawyeer S. Joshua Berger, asked the Superior Court to hold the Adrianos liable to pay the loan, plus accruing interest, court costs, and attorney’s fees.
BoS asked the court to order the sale of the mortgaged property if the defendants fail to pay the amount.
Berger stated in the complaint that the Adrianos’ original loan was $16,677.22, but that as of Feb. 15, 2008, they owe the bank $18,373.33.
Berger said that on Aug. 10, 2007, a notice of default was issued by BoS and hand-delivered to them.
“Greater than 30 days has elapsed since service of the notice of default upon the Adrianos and yet they have failed to cure the default,” the lawyer said.
Berger said the Adrianos are in breach of their agreement with the bank.
In October 2007, the Texas-based LPP Mortgage Ltd. sued the Adrianos for alleged non-payment of over $46,000 disaster loans that they borrowed in 1998.
LPP Mortage also asked the court to order the sale of the mortgaged property containing 999 square meters of land in Koblerville, Saipan if the judgment is not paid in full.
