New online application for OEC
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has implemented a new online application process for the issuance of the POEA Travel Exit Clearance, otherwise known as the Overseas Employment Certificate.
“Previously, overseas Filipino workers already in the Philippines would have to personally proceed to the POEA Office to apply for their exit clearance,” according to Philippine Consul General Wilfredo DL. Maximo. “With this new application system, OFWs can avail of the two-way delivery system through the Internet and have the OEC delivered to their residence in the Philippines using the Aboitiz/2GO courier services.”
Since the application is online, Maximo said that OFWs need not go to the POEA to get their OECs, giving them more time to spend with families and friends during their stay in the Philippines.
“This delivery service is available nationwide and the new system is part of POEA’s continuous effort to provide quality service to OFWs,” Maximo said.
With the new online process, vacationing workers can apply for an exit clearance through the Internet by logging on to www.oecdelivery.com.ph and then following the instructions on the website.
For payment, applicants should pay the total amount of P2,650 (inclusive of fees for OWWA and Philhealth membership, OEC processing, and courier) at the Aboitiz 2GO payment centers located at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong, SM Mall of Asia in Pasay, and People’s Support Building in Buendia, Makati.
Together with the payment, applicants also need to submit photocopies of their passport (data page, visa page if any, latest arrival and departure stamps by immigration authorities, entry permit/re-entry letter, valid OWWA and Philhealth memberships, if any). After validation of submitted proof of OWWA and Philhealth memberships with POEA, Aboitiz/2GO will deliver the OEC to the applicant’s desired address after three working days. Upon OEC delivery, applicants with valid OWWA and Philhealth memberships will be refunded the corresponding amount.
Maximo said that should the OFW decide not to avail of the two-way delivery system, “they have the option to print out the OFW information sheet after applying online and proceed to the POEA to file their application.”
He added that OFWs may also secure their POEA travel exit clearance from the following:
-Balik-Manggagawa Processing Division, Service Area, POEA, Blas F. Ople Building corner EDSA, Mandaluyong City;
-POEA Regional Centers/Regional Extension Units and Satellite Offices;
-POEA-deputized OWWA regional offices and units;
-Exit Clearance One-Way Delivery System Dropbox POEA Service Area; or
-Philippine Overseas Labor Office in various Philippine embassies and consulates abroad.
Maximo said that OFWs may also visit the POEA website at www.poea.gov.ph for more information. They may also call the Aboitiz/2GO courier services in Manila at (011-632) 737-7777.
