The Attorney General’s Office has charged two men for involvement in separate domestic violence incidents on Saipan.

Luis P. Sablan, 38, of As Teo, was charged with criminal mischief, disturbing the peace, and interfering with a domestic violence report.

James Priest, 25, of San Antonio, was charged with assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.

Sablan and Priest were summoned to appear and answer the charges in the Superior Court on Aug. 18, 2008 at 9am.

Chief Prosecutor Kevin Lynch stated in the charging information that on March 27, 2008, Sablan damaged the laptop computer of his wife.

Lynch said Sablan also took out their residential phone line when the victim attempted to call the police to report an alleged domestic violence incident.

In the other case, the chief prosecutor said that on April 18, 2008, Priest pulled a woman out of a vehicle by the hair and left her lying on the ground.

No other details were given.
