A student from the Nagasaki International University has just completed a three-week internship program with the Pacific Development Inc. on Saipan.

Third-year college student Madoka Fukutomi got her certificate of recognition from Mariana Visitors Authority’s acting managing director Judy C. Torres after finishing PDI’s Tourism Industry Internship Training Program in a simple ceremony yesterday.

Fukutomi’s on the job training ran from Aug. 8 to 29.

She said the internship broadened her outlook in life and, by working in a foreign country, she gained more friends.

Fukutomi finished her secondary studies at Luther Senior High School in Japan.

She returned to Japan yesterday to continue her final year of studies. Her career goal is “to be able to help the tourists have a good time.”
