On Wedneday, the Saipan Tribune published a story, Local Shrimp Firm Warns Against Chinese Imports, in which Saipan Aquaculture, a shrimp farming company, presented concerns about chemicals federal inspectors have previously found in seafood shipped to the United States from China.

Accompanying the article was a photograph of a bag of Dragon brand shrimp, which is a product of China. The intent of the photograph was to establish that Chinese shrimp is sold in the CNMI, as sources in the article had suggested.

The photograph was not in any way intended to imply that the particular brand of shrimp shown is contaminated with any harmful chemicals. The Saipan Tribune later reviewed health certificates for imports of Dragon brand shrimp provided by a local distributor and found no cause for concern.
