Rota’s DPS sets insurance, DUI, seatbelt checkpoints

The Rota Department of Public Safety said that its Traffic Section will be conducting one insurance checkpoint and one DUI/sobriety checkpoint this Friday, Oct. 3, 2008.
The first checkpoint will be held along San Francisco Highway Pinatang by the Commerce Office. It will start at about 4pm and will last approximately 75 minutes, to end at about 5:15pm.
The second checkpoint will be conducted along San Francisco Highway by the Rota Hotel. The checkpoint will start around 7:30pm. This checkpoint will last approximately 75 minutes. It will be terminated at about 8:45pm.
Both checkpoints will be terminated if it begins to rain.
The Traffic Section will also be conducting an occupant protection/child restraint checkpoint on Oct. 4, 2008. This checkpoint will be held along San Francisco highway by the Sinapalo 3 Park. The checkpoint will commence at about 10am and last approximately 75 minutes. It will be terminated at about 11:15am.
There will be a DUI/sobriety checkpoint on Oct. 4 as well. This will be held along San Francisco Highway by Teteto Beach. It will commence at about 8pm and last approximately 75 minutes. It will be terminated at about 9:15pm. Both checkpoints will be terminated if it begins to rain.
In addition to the checkpoints, officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions and laser activities. [B][I](DPS)[/I][/B]
