Russia travel agents check out the NMI
Four travel agents from Vladivostok, Russia, recently visited the islands of Saipan, Tinian and Rota. The agents were from Lucky Tours, Double Step Travel, Fregat Aero and Primorye.
The agents were in the CNMI for 10 days to familiarize themselves with each island as well as to gain more knowledge in advance of the scheduled charter flight from Russia in December. Vladivostok is one of the CNMI’s key source markets in Russia.
The agents saw the various tourist attractions on each island and also enjoyed an eco-adventure tour at Marianas Trekking. They also inspected the various hotel facilities on the islands and saw some of the cultural shows and the show at SandCastle.
MVA members supporting this familiarization trip include Hyatt Regency Saipan, Fiesta Resort & Spa, Pacific Islands Club, Aqua Resort Club, Saipan World Resort, Mariana Resort & Spa, Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino, Fleming Hotel, Rota Resort & Country Club, Rota Hotel, Tasi Tours, Belka Tours, and Marianas Trekking.
“This FAM tour provided the travel agents a chance to gain first-hand experience of our islands as a tourist destination. We are confident that this tour will provide the necessary resource to sell our islands,” said MVA managing director Perry Tenorio. “The Russia market is an emerging one for the CNMI and plays a vital role in the future of tourism. The average visitor from Russia spends 13.5 nights in the CNMI and contributes substantially to our tourism economy.” (MVA)
