OBP golf tourney offers more than $40K in prizes
Organizers of the Off the Beaten Path Golf Tournament that will be held today at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort are making sure the inaugural event will be a big one offering more than $40,000 in prizes.
The total pot includes a $15,000 cash from Shell Marianas for hole-in-one winner. Golfers who will drill hole-in-one shots on selected holes can also take home a Mazda SE Truck from Triple J Motors, a roundtrip ticket from any destination in Southeast Asia courtesy of Asian Airlines, and a motorcycle from Joeten Motors.
There are also guaranteed cash prizes for the Top 3 finishers for the Championship Flight, Flight A, B, and C. The champion in each flight will earn $300, $200 for second, and $100 for third. Winners in the said flights will be decided by gross scores, while the Senior and Ladies flights will have a double-peoria format with the golfer to register the lowest net score winning the title.
A banquet will be held at Laolao Bay Golf Resort after the tournament with organizers raffling off two LG 20” LCD televisions, cellular phones, night stays certificates from various hotels, brunch certificates, and a 2009 Tournament of Champions entry valued at $200.
Golfers are encouraged to participate in today’s tournament, as proceeds from the inaugural golfest will be used to help the Commonwealth Health Center purchase a CT scan machine and hyperbaric chamber.
Registration will begin at 6am, while a shotgun start will take place at 7pm. Entrance fee is $100.
