Fundraising tribute to Sr. Remedios today
A special fundraising walkathon is being held today as a tribute to the late Sr. Remedios Castro, who passed away a year ago.
Walking enthusiasts will start walking at 4pm from the Minatchom Atdao Civic Center in Susupe up to the Microl intersection in San Jose and back.
Sr. Martha Rumarui, principal of Sister Remedios School, said it would take the walkers only about an hour for this fundraising activity.
“This is for the benefit of the school. It will be the first death anniversary of Sister Remedios,” said Rumarui.
Donations from each participant will be $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Rumarui said free t-shirts would be given away to those who donate $25 while those who donate $50 will be entitled to raffle tickets.
“This is not an ordinary walkathon where participants will compete with each other,” she explained.
This is the first time the school will hold this kind of activity. She said they are hoping to make it an annual event.
Interested donors and runners are welcome to join the fundraising and enjoy the fun and get to know more about Sr. Remedios.
