Rollers coach Joe Diaz said they will be fielding teams in the 14-and-under, 16-and-under, and 18-and-under division of the Thanksgiving caging, which will run from Nov. 26 to 30.

Diaz added that the Saipan Rollers will be competing against teams from other villages in Guam, such as Yigo, Dededo, Agana, Hagat, Hagatna, Tamuning, Yona, Mangilao, Asan, Inarajan, Umatac, and Tumon.

“The kids are very excited to go to Guam, as this will be their first tournament in more than four months,” Diaz said.

The two other teams will be handled by Diaz’s assistants—Paul Camacho and Vince Teregeyo.

Camacho will be coaching the 14-and-under team, which will be bannered by Lawrence Deleon Guerrero. Joining him are Ken Orejolo, Lester Vertudez, Brian Kim, David Diaz, Anzuko Halstead, and Darren Gabrido.

Meanwhile, Diaz would like to thank Shell Marianas for supporting the Saipan Rollers campaign in Guam. The Rollers also acknowledged the assistance of Wings Travel Agency, D & D Rent-A-Car in Guam, Reps. Ray Yumul and Dave Apatang, and the parents of the players.

The first batch of Saipan Rollers players going to Guam left yesterday, while the remaining cagers are expected to leave Saipan tomorrow.
