Wushin slashes prices of LPG by $0.45 per gallon

Wushin Corp. has dropped the price of its liquefied petroleum gas products, giving consumers on Saipan an advance Christmas gift.
The Lower Base-headquartered LPG supplier decreased its prices by $0.45 per gallon effective Nov. 27. It translates to the following cost savings for island LPG users:
– 90-gallon LPG cylinder from $114.50 to $106.50;
– 50-gallon LPG cylinder from $67 to $62;
– 40-gallon LPG cylinder from $56 to 52; and
– 20-gallon LPG cylinder from $29.75 to $27.75
“The company received a memo from its main supplier in Guam for the price decrease, which is a remarkable decrease compared to the year’s price movement. The decrease was a result of [depressed] prices in the world market,” the company said in a letter to clients.
Wushin said the price decrease is a boon to many of the company’s commercial customers.
Shirley’s Coffee Shop Susupe, for one, welcomed the drop in LPG prices.
Accountant Irene Santiago said the restaurant averages about 500 gallons a month and the decrease would go a long way toward cutting their expenditure.
She said it’s a great Christmas gift for the LPG-using public. Santiago said Shirley’s Susupe has been a loyal customer of Wushin since it opened in 2004.
Ever Clean Laundry’s Sofiul Alam said the price cut will result in savings for the Lower Dandan laundromat. Ever Clean operates several dozen driers, which are powered by Wushin’s LPG cylinders.
Wushin is a wholesaler of LPG for commercial purposes, sells LPG cylinders for residential customers, and is a retailer of LPS accessories. The company also offers LPG connection and installation services.
It also recently introduced refillable LPG canisters at a fraction of the cost of butane canisters.
Wushin was estasblished in 1981 and its first LPG facility was built in As Lito. It moved to Puerto Rico in 1996 and last year began a new chapter in its corporate history following its transfer to a state-of-the-art 5,200-square meter facility in Lower Base.
