Cannoles to head BoH Pacific Islands Division
Cannoles, who was senior vice president and manager of retail and operations, is responsible for leading and managing the overall financial performance of Pacific Islands Division’s various lines of business and market locations.
He succeeds James C. Polk, who will be returning to Honolulu to assume expanded responsibilities in the bank’s Commercial Banking Group. Effective, Jan. 19, Polk will oversee Corporate Banking, Large Ticket and Leverage Leasing, Dealer Flooring and Dealer Indirect, and the Hawaii Commercial Banking Centers. Polk was promoted to executive vice president and Pacific Islands Division Manager in 2006.
Cannoles joined Bank of Hawaii in 1986 as a management trainee. During his tenure at the bank, he has served in a number of positions including managing director for the National Bank of Solomon Islands and deputy general manager for Bank of Tonga. He has also served as vice president and special assets officer for the Pacific Islands Division in Guam. He joined the Pacific Islands Division in 2007 as Retail and Operations Manager.
A graduate of the University of Hawaii in Hilo, Cannoles holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in business administration. He also earned a diploma from the McIntyre School of Business’ Graduate School of Retail Bank Management in Charlottesville, Va.
Cannoles is a member of the Guam Chamber of Commerce.
Bank of Hawaii also announced the promotion of Erlinda D. Alegre to senior vice president from vice president. She will succeed Cannoles as Pacific Islands Division Retail & Operations Manager. Previously, she served as the Compliance and Operations Manager of West Pacific Operations and Support.
Alegre joined Bank of Hawaii in 1994 as a service assistant and has continuously been promoted to various positions including operations analyst and operations manager.
Senior Vice President John Sheather of Saipan has been appointed to Deputy Division Manager from Pacific Islands Division Regional Manager. He is responsible for the management of banking operations in the CNMI, Palau, and American Samoa markets. [B][I](PR)[/I][/B]
