Trench Tech teaming up with Miller Lite
Trench Tech, Inc. president Cuki Alvarez announced last Monday that Trench Tech has transferred major sponsorship and presenter rights over to Miller Lite for 2009 and 2010.
“Miller Lite’s sponsorship presents a fantastic opportunity for both Trench Tech, Inc. and the mixed martial arts sport in the CNMI as a whole,” Alvarez said. “Sports fans in the CNMI and throughout the region can look forward to an incredible season with the very best that MMA has to offer.”
The Miller Lite logo will take over the prime position in the center of the Octagon beginning with the upcoming Rites of Passage VI: Conviction scheduled for Jan. 24.
“To highlight our new partnership with Miller Lite and to accommodate the crowds that we expect for the kick-off event of 2009, we’ll be holding the upcoming Rites of Passage in the ballroom at the World Resort, rather than the Trench Tech Gym in Afetnas. Every fan that shows up will be a VIP to this historic event,” adds Alvarez. “The card that has been set for the event is also a step up from the norm. We have included four main events with fighters who earned their rights to be in the ring long ago—but once again, this is a new year and we are going to set the bar a lot higher from here on out.”
“This January, a new heavyweight, Miller Lite, will enter the Trench Tech Octagon, and everyone will win,” said Charles Cepeda general manager of Pacific Trading Co., the official Miller Lite Distributor. “In addition to high-end MMA matches slated for the next two years, we are planning a few twists and surprises for the schedule that will thrill sports fans throughout the islands.”
Under the two-year agreement, Miller Lite will be the main presenter and exclusive beer sponsor for all Trench Warz events, and the co-main presenter (with Docomo Pacific) and exclusive beer sponsor and for all Rites of Passage events.
“Pacific Trading is also providing sub-sponsorship from our non-alcoholic brands, Pepsi and Monster Energy” adds Cepeda. “The sport appeals to the masses and adding these brands to the events gives Trench Tech Inc. a wider range of beverage tie-ins. Pepsi is the No. 1 cola in the CNMI and Monster is a perfect fit for a high energy sport like MMA.”
“Thanks largely to the efforts of Cuki Alvarez and Trench Tech, Inc., MMA is here to stay,” observed Glen Hunter, PTC sales manager. “Mixed martial arts is one of the only truly professional spectator sports in the CNMI. As most people are already aware, Miller Lite is a huge supporter of MMA in the Pacific. Alvarez and his team are as passionate about the sport as we are, and through this partnership we can expect two years of spectacular performances and continued growth of mixed martial arts in the CNMI, and throughout the region.
“We now have the Ultimate Light Beer sponsoring the ultimate MMA organization in the CNMI,” said Randy Taylor, TTI vice president. “Securing Miller Lite’s support is just an extraordinary break for us, the fighters, and most importantly the fans.”
“Promotional opportunities like this one don’t come around every day,” said Miller Lite marketing manager, Mike Babauta “Trench Tech, Inc. has proven to be immensely popular with our demographic, and the buzz generated by our partnership with Trench Tech, Inc. will advance our brand strategy. Throughout our sponsorship we will give MMA fans a chance to win MMA gear, Trench Tech event tickets, flyaway packages to PXC events in Guam, and more. We look forward to two amazing years.”
Rites of Passage VI: Conviction is scheduled for Jan. 24 at the World Resort Ballroom at 6pm. Tickets will be available starting next week at Docomo Pacific, Pacific Trading Co., Borderline, The 6-7-Zero Rocksteady Shop, Kagman Mobil, and Hannam Market for a flat fee of $20. Information regarding the weigh-in and after party will be made available shortly.
Trench Tech is the CNMI’s leading mixed martial arts organization and the only organization that offers a consistent premier series of MMA sporting events throughout the year.
