Simple solutions

We find it amusing and at times confusing for an official such as the mayor to continue complaining about illegal cockfighting in our community but has not done much to truly rectify the problem.

All due respect, Mr. Tudela, but your office is currently under investigation and being audited for questionable expenditures and possible mismanagement of public funds, which were addressed in our complaints filed with OPA and the AG’s office a few months ago, especially serious concerns with nepotism and accountability of Liberation Day funds.

Recently our Legislative Branch acted on a law mandating the Department of Public Lands Secretary to consult with the Mayor on any and all public land matters. We suggest and recommend that you, as the current mayor of Saipan, consult with DPL and identify a piece of public land and designate a public place for legal cockfighting, instead of concentrating and promoting a family-owned and operated cockfighting arena in Gualu Rai. We are positive that those individuals who continue to illegally engage in such activities will be more than happy to assist you in the construction and the making of rules and regulations preventing continued illegal activities within our community.

We do not condone such illegal cockfighting in our community but we offer solutions preventing continued illegal activities.

Revenues can be generated benefiting both our government and the taxpayers of our homeland if this was pursued and established.

Simple solutions to a problem but one must possess honesty, integrity and the will power to achieve and stop politicking in public office.

The predicaments we face today were created by self-interest politicking in our homeland and it must stop.
