Afetnas factory burglarized, clothing in 180 boxes taken

A factory in Afetnas was burglarized and most garments from 180 boxes were stolen last Saturday, according to the Department of Public Safety yesterday.

DPS spokesperson Lei Ogumoro said that on Saturday morning they received a report of a burglary and theft incident at the Yong Jia Corp. in Afetnas.

Ogumoro said that two employees of Yong Jia Corp. discovered that most of the clothes that was in storage boxes were stolen from the factory.

Police learned the suspect(s) entered through a window.

The factory was last secured on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 2pm.

Ogumoro said police learned that 180 boxes filled with pants and shirts were in the factory, but most of the garments from the boxes were stolen.

“The case is under further investigation,” Ogumoro said.

The NMI Crime Stoppers Program is offering up to $1,000 cash reward to anyone who can provide information leading to an arrest in this case.
