MMC to host RGA February Ace

The Marianas Country Club in Marpi will host Refaluwasch Golf Association’s February Ace of the Month Tournament tomorrow, Feb. 28.
Check in time is 11am with tee off set an hour later at 12pm at the Marpi golf course.
Score to beat is the net 66 carded by Tars Olopai in RGA’s monthly qualifier two weekends ago.
In the Feb. 14 qualifier at the Kingfisher Golf Links, the nine-handicap Olopai fired a 36 in the front and a 39 in the back for a gross of 75.
Jesse Seman (net 69) and Louis Tilipao (72) completed the Top 3, while three other RGA members finished tied at fourth to sixth places with identical 74s.
In the closest to the pin competition, Asterio Tawanpiy was without peer in hole No. 6, while Olopai was the best in hole No. 15.
A total of 22 golfers took part in the February qualifier.
In related news, RGA tournament coordinator Jess Wabol is encouraging current and past members to pay the club’s annual membership fee, which will remain at $25 because of the current economic crisis.
