Taste of the Marianas gets cookin’!
Island delicacies and international dishes are the main course at this year’s “Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival and Beer Garden.” Island hotels, restaurants and other food vendors will serve up their best choices during the May Tourism Month public extravaganza.
Visitors and residents alike are expected in droves for five consecutive Saturdays evenings of food, fun and festivities. The annual Taste of the Marianas, organized by the Marianas Visitors Authority and the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands, will be held from 6pm to 10pm each Saturday in May at American Memorial Park in Saipan
“The Taste of the Marianas is our way of welcoming visitors and saying thanks to the local community for their support of tourism,” said MVA managing director Perry Tenorio. “It’s also an excellent venue for local hotels to share their menu with a broader audience. Honestly, it’s a great way to show off some of the best the Northern Marianas’ offer as an island destination, both in services, hospitality, and island spirit.”
Live entertainment will be provided throughout the night. The lineup for May 2, 2009, will be:
* 6pm National Anthem by Nicollette Lopez
* 6:30pm – 7:30pm Tropikool Blendz Band
* 7:30pm – 8:30pm Inatuas Cultural Dancers
* 8:30pm – 9:30pm Welippal Cultural Dancers
