New management promises a more exciting The Flair Bar
The Flair Bar re-opens with same name but under new management, with a planned re-launch at a future date.
Formerly a franchise bar of South Korea’s “Those Who Make Party Co.” since 2005, The Flair is now jointly owned by partners Hang Song, Yun Lee, and Sophie Yeom of the Song and Jang Corporation.
Yeom, in an interview, disclosed that they took ownership of the bar located in downtown Garapan only last month.
“The Flair has a very good location in the heart of Garapan and it has great potential once it’s revived,” she told Saipan Tribune.
Since The Flair has been saddled with a lackluster image owing to nearby bars and disco, Yeom said they plan to spruce up the bar in coming weeks.
“We’re planning to change the bar and make it something different, something special. We want to provide tourists and residents a place where they can just hang out or even party,” she said.
Their plans, Yeom said, include overhauling the whole bar—from its entryway all the way to the interior by adding two more private rooms where clients can enjoy exclusive parties.
“We want people to know that they can celebrate special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries at The Flair or make any day special and touching for their loved ones,” said operations manager Walter Yu, whose wife celebrated her natal day at The Flair a little over a week ago.
According to Yeom, they will also revamp their chasers and drink menus to offer an improved selection and reasonably priced nibblers and cocktails.
“We want to make our prices competitive and offer more choices to our customers,” she explained.
For her part, bar manager Sunshine Salas disclosed that they plan to hold exciting new events to entice more bar enthusiasts to choose The Flair as their go-to bar.
Customers can look forward to Zoo Call Sundays, Reverse Musical Chairs Mondays, Glow in the Dark Tuesdays, Jersey Night Wednesdays, Rock Paper Scissors Thursdays, Sex on the Micro Beach Fridays, and Crazy Hat Saturdays.
Salas said there will also be several local bands that will perform regularly at The Flair in addition to the nightly bartending exhibits.
What’s more, they have implemented ‘Happy Hour’ from 6pm to 8pm featuring $2 beer bottles and basic cocktails priced at only $3 per glass.
“People are getting tired of the same thing. Now that we’re under new management, we will turn things around, offer new events and activities, and communicate better with customers,” she added.
While Yeom is new in the bar business, she noted that she has been residing and doing all kinds of businesses on Saipan, from real estate and water activity retail store to massage shop and tour agency.
With the help of the management and employees of The Flair whom she retained, Yeom said a new beginning for the bar is highly promising.
“All the workers at The Flair are willing to help out and revive the place,” she said. “We’re targeting our grand opening and launching right before the July 4 celebration.”
Yu said that all these events and activities aim to liven up and give more energy to The Flair.
“It’s more exciting when there’s something going on and not just music. We want to make The Flair livelier, more entertaining, and a lot edgier,” he added.
