[B]Red Cross annual meeting tonight[/B]

The NMI Chapter of the American Red Cross is having its annual meeting tonight, Wednesday June 8, 2011, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the Chapter office on Airport Road. All volunteers, donors, and others interested in the Red Cross are welcome to attend. The purpose of the meeting is to hold elections of the voting members of its board of directors, review reports by Chapter directors, and transact other business as it may come before the meeting. Learn how to increase asset building and financial education in the CNMI. Attend a free training on Thursday and Friday, June 9 – 10, 2011, from 9am to 4pm on both days at the office of the Inetnon Amot yanKutturanNatibu/Mwwischil Safey me Kkoor Aramasal Faluw at 1213 Capital Hill Rd. on Capital Hill, across from the CNMI Workforce Investment Agency and next to the CNMI Board of Parole Office.

The Administration for Native Americans and the Office of Community Services Assets for Financial Independence program have partnered to promote asset building in native communities. This pre-application training will include information on applying for funding through a new OCS and ANA initiative that will support comprehensive asset building projects in native communities. The training is free to tribes and Native American, Native Alaskan, Native Hawaiian, and U.S. Pacific Islander non-profit organizations. The 3S Saipan Security Service will be hosting a security guard orientation for their current staff at the American Memorial Park, Visitor Center Theatre on June 18. It will run three hours from 8am to 11am. Anyone from the community that is interested in becoming a security guard is welcome to attend the orientation. Subjects that will be covered are customer service, report writing, proper communication and other items. 3S is a sister organization of Saipan City Taxi Association. The Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco Control Division is reminding all licensed business establishments that applications for Alcoholic Beverage Control license renewals are now being accepted.

Application forms may be obtained from the Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco Control Division at the Department of Commerce, Donni Hill Complex, Capitol Hill Road, Pohnpei Street, anytime between 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday except austerity Fridays, weekends, and legal holidays.

All licensed businesses in Rota and Tinian may pick up application forms from the Commerce resident department head on Rota and Tinian. Application forms may also be downloaded at www.commerce.gov.mp.

The deadline for filing of renewal applications, including payment of fees, is on June 30, 2011. For more information, call the ABTC Division at 664-3065. [B][I](PR)[/I][/B] [B]Air Force training on FDM[/B]

SANTA RITA, Guam—The Air Force will conduct training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla on June 10, from 8am to 2:30pm.

The public—especially fisherman, commercial pilots and marine tour operators—are advised to stay clear from the area during the times and dates indicated.

The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants. [B][I](PR)[/I][/B] [B]Final MHS Class of 1991 reunion meeting on June 10[/B]

The Marianas High School Class of 1991 will be having its final meeting for its 20th reunion. Class members will be meeting on June 10, 2011, at the 13 Fishermen’s Pavilion (2nd Pavilion) on Beach Road at 6pm to plan for the reunion. Final collection of the $22 banquet fee will be done at the meeting. It will also be the final day for payment for T-shirt orders (small-XL: $9 or XXL $9.50). The Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation’s committees on Judiciary and Government Operation and Ways and Means will be conducting public hearings for House Local Bills 17-44, or the Saipan and Northern Islands Casino Control Act of 2011 at the following locations:

* Wednesday, June 8, Dandan Elementary School, 6pm
* Friday, June 19, Kagman Elementary School, 6pm
* Monday, June 13, Multi-Purpose Center, Susupe, 6pm
