Bank donates $3K, umbrellas for Flame Tree Arts Festival
Bank of Guam has joined the roster of sponsors and donors for the celebration of the 30th Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival this year.
Vice president and regional manager Marcie M. Tomokane and assistant vice president and branch manager Larry A. Philip presented a $3,000 check and a box of Bank of Guam umbrellas to Arts Council board vice chair Ana S. Teregeyo and executive director Angel S. Hocog in a brief ceremony yesterday morning.
“We’re very proud and happy to sponsor the Flame Tree Arts Festival, which is now on its 30th anniversary,” said Tomokane. “Since the festival’s inception, we’ve always been supportive of the annual festival, which promotes local artists and their works of art.”
Tomokane disclosed that she usually buys trinkets made not only by local artists but also by some international delegates during the festival.
“The festival is also a very important venue for artists to share their talents to their fellow artists, the community, and internationally through off-island delegates and guests,” she said.
According to Tomokane, “If there’s any way that we can help the Arts Council and the local artists, we would be glad to help.”
Teregeyo expressed her appreciation to Bank of Guam on behalf of the Arts Council and the Flame Tree Arts Festival Committee for their continuous support in promoting arts and culture in the Commonwealth.
“The 30th Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival is a big event that upholds our pool of local artists who deserve to be celebrated for their vision and creativeness,” added Teregeyo.
Hocog also announced that DFS Galleria made a $1,000 donation on top of the $3,000 donation they already gave on May 24. Moreover, Younis Arts Studio has agreed to sponsor print media advertisements beginning last week and leading to the event.
“We want to thank all our generous sponsors for their donations that will make the 30th Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival truly a success,” said Hocog.
The festival will be held on June 9-12 at the American Memorial Park, west of the Bell Tower in Garapan, This year’s theme is “Celebrating 30 years of Uniting Cultures and Traditions.”
