Saipan taxi group offers $500 reward for info on Luhk sisters

Besides distributing flyers to help locate sisters Faloma and Maleina Luhk who have been missing since May 25, the Saipan City Taxi Association is also now offering a $500 reward for any information leading to the return of the two sisters.
“We hope to be able to help,” Saipan City Taxi Association president Rabby Syed told Saipan Tribune yesterday.
Since last week, the 16-member taxi association has been distributing flyers to help federal and local authorities and the family in locating the two girls, aged 9 and 10.
Syed, who is also the president of the United Workers Movement-NMI, said they are also offering their services—free of charge—to volunteers and law enforcers involved in the search operation for the two sisters who were reportedly last seen waiting for their school bus in the early morning of May 25 in As Teo.
To date, up to $13,500 in total reward money has been offered in connection with the search operation for the Luhk sisters, both students at Kagman Elementary School.
Besides the Saipan City Taxi Association’s $500 reward, the others include up to $10,000 offered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, $1,000 from IT&E, another $1,000 from Sorensen Media Group, and up to $1,000 from the CNMI Crime Stoppers.
The missing girls’ grandfather, Elbert Quitugua, earlier said the family will also announce a five-digit monetary reward to help locate the sisters. The money, he said, will be donated by an “anonymous” donor.
This is the first time in CNMI history that dozens of federal and local agents, supported by hundreds of volunteers, have been mobilized to help locate missing children.
