2 CNMI students win in bank’s 2014 calendar contest

Two CNMI students were named yesterday as among the 13 winners of the Bank of Guam’s10th annual Calendar Photography Contest.

[B]HAGATNA, Guam[/B]—Two CNMI students were named yesterday as among the 13 winners of the Bank of Guam’s10th annual Calendar Photography Contest.

They are Joseph Masga Mendiola Jr., an 11th grade student of Tinian High School, and Kody Palacios, a 12th grade student of Saipan Southern High School.

The contest garnered over 130 entries with the theme, “Native Wildlife: Land and Sea.”

The following are the list of winners:
– Cover photo winner: Kent Velesrubio, St. John’s School, 11th Grade

– January winner: Natasha Hagans, Academy of Our Lady of Guam, 11th Grade

– February winner: Peter Pereda, Notre Dame High School, 12th Grade

– March winner: Ashley Hope Pama Castro, George Washington High School, 12th Grade

– April winner: Tomas Garcia, Notre Dame High School, 12th Grade

– May winner: Sarah Gregson, Home School (Guam), 9th Grade

– June winner: Rita Barcinas, George Washington High School, 12th Grade

– July winner: Joseph Masga Mendiola, Jr., Tinian High School (CNMI), 11th Grade

– August winner: Camille Eunice R. Joya, George Washington High School, 12th Grade

– September winner: Gabby Paynter, St. John’s School, 10th Grade

– October winner: Polene Manibusan, George Washington High School, 12th Grade

– November winner: Maria Philomena B. Silvestre, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, 9th Grade

– December winner: Kody Palacios, Saipan Southern High School (CNMI), 12th Grade.

The cover photo winner was awarded a $250 prize, and the winners of the 12-month categories were presented with $150 prizes.

Bank of Guam annually prints 25,000 complimentary copies of its calendar, which is available to bank customers through its 23 branches. [B][I](BOG)[/I][/B]
