Guam National Guard soldiers depart Afghanistan

All remaining Task Force Guam soldiers have departed theatre en route to a staging area where they will await transportation to Camp Shelby, MS, to begin their demobilization process.

All remaining soldiers, assigned to the 1-294th Infantry Regiment, Guam Army National Guard, have safely departed Afghanistan and are expected to arrive in Camp Shelby, MS, on Tuesday, Dec. 31.

The battalion’s close to 600 soldiers deployed to Afghanistan early this year in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan.

There are still 31 airmen from the Guam Air National Guard’s 254th Security Forces Squadron and four soldiers from the Guam Army National Guard’s 1990th Contingency Contracting Team deployed during this holiday season in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. [B][I](PR)[/I][/B]
