Hart: We look forward to working with Kilili
Northern Marianas College president Dr. Sharon Hart stressed yesterday that she and the college community are looking forward to forging a stronger working relationship with Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan for the benefit of NMC students and for the advancement of higher education in the CNMI.
“We have the greatest respect for Congressman Kilili and look to his assistance not only on local matters, but also on key issues involving higher education on the national level,” said Hart.
Hart was responding to an article that was published on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, in the Saipan Tribune where Sablan stated he would like to help the Northern Marianas College.
“His office has been tremendously helpful to the college in the past and we hope we can continue to rely on that assistance so we can maximize benefits and options that are available to CNMI students as they pursue a college degree,” added Hart.
Among the items that Hart would like to discuss with Sablan are workforce development initiatives, the continuation of programs and services made possible by the College Access Challenge Grant program, and capital improvement projects.
“There are key priorities for the college that have broad impact in the community but require funding and resources,” said Hart. “We are looking forward to collaborate with Congressman Sablan to see how we can best leverage existing and new programs and services.”
Hart stated that she has already made calls to Sablan’s office to schedule a meeting. (NMC)
