The Rota Marianas Lions Club was chartered last Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at the Rota Round House, with 27 new members sworn in. The event also featured the induction of new officers for the Lion Year 2015. The Saipan Marianas Lions Club was the sponsoring club.
Lions Club member from Guam joined the event, including acting District Governor Lion Daniel Yang, Immediate Past District Governor Lion Annabelle Dancel, Past District Governor Lion Herbie Perez, PDG Lion Romy Angel, and Region 1 Zone Chair Lion Art Navarro.
Saipan Lions Club members who were also present included Region 2 Chair Lion Ladyvir Canape, Saipan Marianas Lions Club President Lion Nelida Atalig, Treasurer Lion Florenda Miranda, Saipan Fil-Am Lions Club President Lion Nenita Marquez, Treasurer Lion Arceli Legaspi, and Region 2 Secretary Lion Olivia Yana.
“The waiting is over and we are happy that finally the RMLC was chartered and, with the leadership of its Charter President, Lion Julian Calvo, we are confident that Lions Club will be visible on Rota through its project and services to the community,” Region 2 PRO Lion Annamae Adaza said.
All members are also being encouraged to attend the District 204 Convention on March 7-8, 2015, at the Pacific Star Hotel in Guam.
