Linda Look, a former resident of Guam and daughter of the late Dwight Look, recently donated a property gift to the University of Guam totaling 1.2 million square meters located in the villages of Inarajan, Piti, Chalan Pago, Talofofo, Yigo, and Yona with an estimated cash value of $4 million.

“I want the property to be used now so that current and future students are able to obtain their educational goals,” said Look.

UOG president Dr. Robert A. Underwood described the donation as “the largest single contribution that UOG has received and we are extremely grateful to her for remembering Guam, her childhood home.”

Mark Mendiola, UOG Endowment Foundation executive director, said: “We thank Ms. Look for her contribution to the University of Guam. This estate planned giving is an example of how members of our community can help build a campus for many students and generations to come.”

The University of Guam’s 60th Anniversary Capital Campaign’s effort to raise $30 million aims to provide Guam’s students with the necessary tools and resources to compete in an ever-changing global economy.

According to Look, “UOG’s vision of a 21st century campus is also my own.”

Appreciation dinner
Look was one of many donors recognized at the University of Guam Endowment Foundation’s annual Donor Appreciation Dinner. Look was recognized as a University of Guam 21st-century Visionary, a fundraising category of individuals who donate at a $100,000 level and above. Also recognized as UOG 21st Century Visionaries during the event were Mobil Oil Guam, Moylan’s Insurance, and First Net Insurance Co.

The Donor Appreciation Dinner was held on Friday, Feb. 20, at the University of Guam Calvo Field House. (UOG)
