Man back in court after just being sentenced to prison 3 weeks ago
Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman expressed disbelief yesterday that a habitual offender he just slapped with a six-day prison term some weeks ago was in court again for allegedly harassing and shouting profanities at a former girlfriend.
Wiseman told Joseph Jones Villagomez that he just accepted three weeks ago a lenient plea agreement in a previous domestic violence case.
Despite Villagomez’s numerous crimes in the past, Wiseman said he accepted the plea agreement, hoping that this time Villagomez will learn his lesson.
This time, Wiseman imposed a $5,000 cash bail on the suspect.
Villagomez, 41, was arrested on Monday for disturbing the peace and criminal trespass.
Police detective Vincent A. Igisaiar stated in his report that Villagomez went to the house of his former girlfriend in As Terlaje on Sunday night and shouted at her for help because his car had just crashed. The woman refused because her children were already sleeping and she did not want to leave them.
Villagomez shouted profanities at her and left the house. Later at 12am, he returned to the house and pounded on the door. When she refused to open it, Villagomez threatened to break the door. She then called police.
Early this month, Wiseman imposed a six-day prison term on Villagomez for violating a court order by insisting on seeing his children at the home of his former girlfriend in San Roque.
