Police arrested on Saturday night a 35-year-old man who allegedly burglarized a house in Dandan and stole some items and jewelry all worth about $2,164 last March 27.

At a press briefing yesterday, Department of Public Safety Commissioner James C. Deleon Guerrero announced the arrest of Vincent Daniel Quitugua Terlaje.

Deleon Guerrero assured the community that police have been investigating the rash of burglary incidents in Dandan, but that they have not released information so not to jeopardize ongoing investigations. He also appealed to the people to stop buying items that are obviously stolen.

Terlaje was arrested for burglary, and theft. A $10,000 cash bail was imposed yesterday.

Police detective Catherine B. Pangelinan stated in her report that last March 27 a police officer was dispatched to a residence in Dandan, which was burglarized.

The officer learned that stolen from the house were a 32-inch Samsung flat screen TV, PS3 with games, several purses and wallets, and gold jewelry.

Pangelinan said that last Wednesday, she and two detectives met with a cooperating source, who disclosed that it was Terlaje who was responsible for the burglary at the Dandan house.

The cooperating source revealed that he saw Terlaje come out from the house’s sliding window and was holding bags.

A brown car driven by a “local guy” later arrived and Terlaje allegedly loaded all the stolen items into the vehicle.

Pangelinan said that, last Thursday, they talked with the “local guy” who then admitted that Terlaje loaded three bags containing items into his car and brought the bags to another house. (Ferdie de la Torre)
